Painting Cafe Opens

And finally the painting cafe opens. The opening of Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe was a test of my own personal perseverance. It was a test to see how far I was willing to go to achieve my dreams.

I spent years planning the opening of the Studio. Thinking through how to have a community art space enrich the community. How would I create an artistic space that the kids and adults would embrace and feel inspired to create in? I knew that I wanted to offer workshops and also to have a space to host art shows for artists as well as my own. I knew that the space would have to make even the non-artist comfortable enough to let their guard down and to find the creativity of their youth.

There was so much that that I wanted for Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe – my burden was enormous.

But I knew that I had to try. If not, this would be the biggest failure of all.

So on February 6th at 12 noon, I opened the doors and we waited. It was a whirlwind of a day. Jam packed with people and positive energy. I was too busy to even think about my feelings until everyone had gone home and we sat exhausted on the couch. My only thought was that we did it. Despite all of the roadblocks. Here it was.

I knew that I had a lot of work ahead of me and I would fight endlessly to make my business a success. This desire to fight is one that is not foreign to me. I inherently believe that success has come to me by working hard and pushing forward even when I feel like I have no more fight left.

I have big hopes for Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe and I hope that the opening of this painting cafe will be remarkable.
