New Toronto Art Studio

Toronto Art Studio

Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe has been years in the making. As a visual artist wanted to start a business that enabled me to thrive as a artistic soul, offer the community an opportunity to express their creativity and to be honest, make a living.

So, the concept of combining social painting, a cafe and an unique event space came to be.

And we weren’t half in, we were all in. We bought the building, then leased the building while my daughter was was very little, and then once the tenants moved out we started planning and renovating for over a year. And so a new Toronto art studio was born.

The space was originally an old Korean church that has tin ceilings that are over 100 years old, original maple hardwood flooring and brick walls. The tin ceiling was the only aesthetic element that was apparent when the space was a church, the floor and the brick was buried under layers and layers of panel, carpet, more panel and vinyl.

The beauty was always there, although hiding.

The renovations were difficult but oh so rewarding once my vision came together. Retaining the beauty of the space and enhancing it with warm organic elements.

When you walk in the doors you feel the energy of the space, warm, inviting, rich in spirit.

The two photos I have posted show the before and after of the storefront.
